Uber offers an array of rides and services. Which one of them is best suited for your needs. Let’s get more details on the common ride types.

Economy

  • Uber X: Standard Uber ride. It accommodates up to 4 passengers (one person in the front seat and 3 in the back) in a standard car, such as Toyota Prius, Ford Focus, Honda Accord. It offers a standard Uber experience at an affordable price, great for everyday needs.
  • Comfort: It provides extra comfort for up to 4 riders. Cars are newer (usually less than 7 years old) with extra legroom than compact cars; examples: Honda Accord, Toyota Camry Hybrid. Highly rated drivers. You can let your driver know if you prefer a quiet ride. You can also choose from 4 vehicle temperature presets from the app. The cost is slightly higher than UberX.
  • Green: An eco-friendly hybrid or electric vehicle producing fewer carbon emissions than the average trips. By going Green, you help make the environment more sustainable. It usually costs the same as UberX. This service is not available in all areas. Examples include Tesla Model 3.
  • UberX Share: The same type of cars as UberX, but you share the card with riders going in the same direction. It costs than the standard (UberX) service if the ride is shared.
  • UberX Saver: It is the same standard UberX ride but with a longer pickup time. It costs slightly less than UberX. This is a great option if you want to save a few dollars and have a few extra minutes on hand. This service is not available in all areas.

 

Luxury

  • Select: High end luxury cars for up to 4 riders. The drivers are highly rated (4.85 or higher) and have completed at least 100 trips. Examples: BMW 5 Series, Audi A6
  • Uber Black: All black luxury vehicle with a black exterior with leather seats. It provide room for up to four riders. Drivers are highly rated (4.85 or higher) with commercial insurance. By setting Ride Preferences in the app, the driver will tailor the ride experience to your liking. This option also comes with premium support.

 

Extra Seats

  • Uber XL: SUV or van for up to 6 riders or extra luggage. It costs more than UberX. This is a good option if you more people in your party or have a lot of luggage.
  • Uber Black SUV: Similar to Uber Black, it offers luxury SUVs with a black exterior with leather seats. Seat at least 6 passengers. Examples: BMW X5, Cadillac Escalade, Lincoln Navigator.
